Promises: How to manifest God’s promises

Promises of God

This will be a series about manifesting the promises of God in our lives.

Have you ever wondered why some people say “my cup runneth over” yet to be sincere the cup is very empty? Some even the cup itself is not there!

They say “surely His goodness and mercy shall follow me” yet in the neighbourhoods, the police won’t stop shooting rubber bullets left right and centre?

It is actually a thing that you speak the word of God and get the total opposite out of it.

Jeremiah 12:13 They have sown wheat, but shall reap thorns: they have put themselves to pain, but shall not profit: and they shall be ashamed of your revenues because of the fierce anger of the LORD.

This scripture means they will sow the word of God but they will reap curses out of it.

They will make sacrifices thinking it is a righteous thing to do and nothing will come out of it.

Your efforts and results will bring shame because of the fierce anger of the Lord.

Honestly, I can see where He is coming from because I for one have witnessed a very strange paradox in life.

Some of the most wicked people I have encountered, frankly speaking are people hiding in “church”. They know the scriptures front to back, so on and so forth.

On the other hand, some of the most amazingly kind, loving, nurturing, generous, humble just absolutely wholesome people, overflowing with goodness and you feel it before they even speak, are people that don’t go to church.

In both circumstances, the word of God glorifies Himself.

Deuteronomy 30:11-14 says, now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond reach.

It is not up in heaven, so that you ask “Who will ascend into heaven to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?”

Nor is it beyond the sea, so that you have to ask, “Who will cross the sea to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?”

No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it.

Romans 2:12-16 says, for all who have sinned without the Law will also perish without the Law, and all who have sinned under the Law will be judged under the Law: for it is not the hearers of the Law who are just before God but the doers of the Law, will be justified.

When Gentiles who do not have the Law do instinctively the things of the Law, these not having the Law, are a Law to themselves.

In that they show the work of the Law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness and their thoughts alternately accusing or defending them, on the day when, according to my gospel, God will judge the secrets of men through Christ Jesus.

Hebrew 10:15-16 says, and the Holy Spirit also testifies to us after saying, this is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put my Laws upon their heart, and on their mind I will write them, He then says, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.

WHY DOES OUR LIFE CONTRADICT THE PROMISES IN THE WORD?

Precious ones, the Law of the Old testament, is the essence of Jesus Christ of Nazareth our Lord and saviour.

The righteousness of the Law is found in Him through the promise of the covenant that is the Holy Spirit.

He the Holy Spirit, manifests in our flesh hence the term “body of Christ” and through His righteousness, we act accordingly.

We in fact, become the Law through Christ Jesus who is the Law of righteousness, by Faith through His grace and mercy.

For example, if you were a thief when Jesus Christ called you, In Him you will no longer feel the need to steal. You just become automated to a new whole person through the wholeness of Jesus Christ by His Spirit and Might.

“He abides in you, you abide in Him and then you hear and practice all that He tells you then you can ask for whatever you wish for and it will be granted”. All working together through Him.

So, every time we try to pursue righteousness on our own terms and efforts, we will reap curses and eventually death.

Our flesh is not capable of anything that is good.

We have to transform from our “earthy” nature to become “heavenly”. In our earthy nature we are just “a living soul” but in our heavenly nature we become “a life giving spirit”.

The first essence of our being-living soul, is in the state of the first Adam and our transition to the second essence of our being-life giving spirit, is through Christ Jesus the rock of salvation in us all and above us, by Faith.

After we have transformed to this spiritual state, through Christ Jesus, THEN AND ONLY THEN can we now begin to apply spiritual matters in to the physical realm successfully.

Most of the physical aspects of life are as a matter of fact conclusions of what has taken place spiritually. We will talk more about this soon.

The flesh and the spiritual can never become one. That’s also why the Lord said “unless one is born of water, they cannot enter the Kingdom of God”.

So we can do all the gimmicks in “church”, scream, shout, stand on flashy podiums and confess all the scriptures but it will be as though out of the frying pan and into the fire.

The Kingdom of God is built on order and it is in order that we must live if we want to see His glory fully in our midst.

For the sake of the greater good let us be willing to look at things for what they really are.

There is no value in calling tension peace, slavery freedom, insecurity beauty, codependency relationships among other twisted things we believe and do.

We must be willing to be vulnerable, to accept we have a deficit, to seek for help and say Doctor Jesus Christ please, I am sick. Through your compassion heal me and you will be healed and even forgiven.

Promises of God

If we don’t allow ourselves to crack and embrace our cracks we will never experience true light.

This is why our lives contradict the truth of God.

Every time the flesh will attempt to do the heavenly/spiritual, there will be a shameful contradiction.

We confess God alright but even the demons confess Him and bow at His feet. One even makes it in the heavenly gatherings among the angels to accuse us. So we are not doing anything special.

The Lord said even the stones can start making confessions.

Confessions therefore do not cut it and it is dangerous to confess what you don’t understand.

Also, you cannot confess Jesus Christ and claim that we do not need to do anything. I see people taking “there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” out of context.

The reason why there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus is because they are established in His righteousness.

They live in His ways through Him and so there is nothing to condemn. It doesn’t mean anything else outside of this.

It is written “man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the mouth of God”.

This is to mean Faith in the bread of life who is Jesus Christ is not enough but rather Faith together with obeying everything that comes from the mouth of God is how we will attain a fruitful life.

Anyone who teaches you otherwise is a liar and has not been appointed by the Lord of Lords.

If you confess Jesus Christ you have to endeavour to obey His commandments. He did not do away with them.

That’s why He said when people will tell Him “We healed in your name, we prophesied in your name..” He will say “away from me you who practiced Lawlessness. I never knew you”.

James said, “show me your faith without works and I will show you my Faith by my works”.

Works, is the works of righteousness. Nothing else. So are the fruits.

The fruits of righteousness have no correlation with this fleeting material world.

So when somebody comes to relate to you about the blessings of the Lord and throughout their speech they relate with THINGS if not THEMSELVES, don’t be startled.

Our lives will continue to contradict the only Living word of this world, when we continue to bypass Jesus Christ.

From the beginning and I mean it in literal sense, that is Genesis, everything begins with Him, continues through Him in us, above us, in all and will end with Him. He is practically and truly the Alpha and Omega.

Outside of Him is darkness, gnashing of teeth, depravity, hatred, greed, idolatry, all sorts of sorcery, famine, pestilence, sword and eventually perpetual destruction.

In fact in our generation, if we do not turn from wickedness, the destruction that will befall us will be unmatched. How I wish people were willing to give heed.

Dear friends it is time to take action. It is time for you to be true to YOURSELF in case you have no regard for others.

To your own self, be true.

Just truthfully examine yourself and seek for help where need be.

Nobody comes to Jesus Christ with a clean slate. Humble yourself, admit to your inadequacy, seek the Lord’s forgiveness and help.

“He is righteous and just to forgive us our sins and purify us from all our unrighteousness”. Never to remind us again of things of old.

Promises of God

So embrace your muddied diapers and come for clean ones. It’s ok we have all muddied the diapers!!

“Seek and you will find”.

“Ask and you will receive”.

“Knock and the door will be open”.

Matthew 7:7

Let us not be stuck in rotten ways and it is time for us to drop the “god complex”.

Without the Lord, we are just as good as “busybodies”.

He asked “why gain the whole world and lose your soul”?

Unless He builds, we all build in vain.

RECONCILING OUR LIVES WITH THE PROMISES AND TRUTH OF GOD.

The truth of God is Jesus Christ of Nazareth manifested in the flesh-The Kingdom of God at hand.

The way to reconciling with God is so simple perhaps that’s why people seem to enjoy overlooking it.

  1. Through knowledge of the word of God who again is Jesus Christ and revelation from the Holy Spirit, you will be led to repent and renounce your old ways.
  2. Then you will receive baptism of repentance through immersion in the water by a servant of God.
  3. Later if not immediately, you will then be baptised by Jesus Christ Himself with Fire and the Holy Spirit.

Afterwards, exactly like Jesus Christ, you will be led to the wilderness.

Emptied from your old ways, to be filled with the newness of righteousness by Grace through Faith.

You see that Red Sea from old? In exodus? Yes it was a physical thing that happened but it was prophetic.

It was a prophetic symbolism of Baptism. It was a spiritual matter being demonstrated by physical means.

The Blood of Jesus (Red) splits the spirits (Sea) into two.

Promises of God

From your earthy and fleshly self first later to translate to the heavenly state of righteousness.

So you walk on dry ground (emptied from old to be made new and whole) into the wilderness to learn God’s ways, be humbled, faith tested, disciplined and later be filled with the inheritance promised.

From there it will be that it is no longer you that lives but Christ that lives inside of you who then uses you for His glory.

Then eventually, there will be a division of spirits.

The spirits of Truth and the spirits of Injustice. Light and darkness as told in Genesis.

From here the warfare will be between these two spirits and it is not yours to fight necessarily.

“You need only to be still and see the salvation of the Lord”.

Otherwise why do you think the Lord said “do not assume that I have come to bring peace to the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to turn ‘A man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter in law against her mother in law…”?

In practical sense, if you take Water (Spirit) and pour it on Blood, the Water will split the blood.

So when every body says blood is thicker than water I add on to that- yet water separates blood. The Blood of Jesus Divides the spirits into two and the Holy Spirit separates.

Did God create Family for them to turn against one another then? May it never be!!

He made families so that through Jesus Christ He can be able to work with them.

Families were supposed to be having one mind in Christ Jesus. Unity of Faith and sincerity of heart.

However, when there is Idolatry (among other detestable practices) involved, all sorts of evil enter the family and the Lord emancipates Himself for He is Holy and chooses individuals instead.

Not because these individuals are more deserving but because of His grace, mercy and purpose.

Hence why the Lord told us “for I am your master, and I will take you-one from a city and two from a family-and bring you to Zion” and again He says “two will be against three”.

It is a battle of the spirit, for most families are not united in Christ Jesus.

There are those of righteousness and there are those of unrighteousness and injustice. All in one house. These two through the sword of the Lord which is the word of judgment will always be at conflict.

He is truly a corner stone and also a stumbling block.

I would actually kindly advice us all to keep in mind that it is only one sin that is unforgivable and that is blaspheming the Holy Spirit.

Avoid doing harm to people for you never know who is who.

The Lord just like days of old can be born in a family.

Many people living amongst us were not born because of human will but by the will of God for his own purpose.

You could be sabotaging people and without knowing you find that you have been sabotaging the Lord Himself to your own detriment. He set Himself up as a stumbling block against you so to speak.

It is not for nought that we are warned, “touch not my annointed”.

Live peacefully and quietly now more than ever.

Even Enoch and Elijah can very well be your neighbors waiting for an appointed time, looking like everybody else and you will never know it.

The Lord is absolutely mysterious. Truly like a wind. You don’t know where He comes from or where He goes. Many times you will not even detect Him in your midst but He is always here.

John the Baptist for instance had no idea he had the spirit of Elijah in him.

So anytime you feel inclined to set a snare or dig a pit for a brother or sister, be very careful.

First you might be messing with what you cannot fathom and second you’re doing it against yourself.

Watch out that you do not plunge yourselves in a fire you cannot quench!

I remember Saul also anointed by God, spent His life pursuing and plotting evil against David. What was interesting was that God was behind both their spirits.

One purpose was for destruction, the other which is David was for His salvation.

Saul, obsessed so much with David so much so as to follow him in the wilderness. God told David He can do what He wants with Saul including finishing him.

However because David was a man of integrity, he preferred to glorify the word of God more than his desires. So he said “it is written touch not my annointed”. He then cut the corner of his garment, knelt before him, they had an exchange and he let him go.

You know how the story ends for the wicked. Saul died a painful death.

Paul wrote “stand firm in one spirit, contending side by side for the faith of the gospel, without being frightened in any way by those who oppose you. This is a clear sign of their destruction but of your salvation and it is from God”.

I just showed you how by giving you an example with Saul and David.

Abstain from doing evil against people or doing things without understanding.

Pray for wisdom if you feel like you struggle with making decisions. Pray about everything actually and submit to the Lord.

Additionally, I told you about using the Full Armor of God successfully and despite my thorough rebuke, my message was that the Full Armor is Jesus Christ within our spirit. Get dressed by Him with Him in you.

That’s why Paul begins by saying “be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might”.

You don’t just merely confess the full armor and imagine you are dressed like a knight. We have to pray for understanding if we don’t fully get what’s going on.

These are spiritual matters not mambo jambo hoccass poccass voodoo woodoo!!

Point in case, when you you decide to surrender to the will of God which is to reconcile you to Himself, all hell will break lose but “be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid”.

“The sufferings of the present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us” and “always put on the full armor of God so that you will be able to resist evil and stand firm”.

He will fight your battles as long as you abide in Him and He abides in you. Your duty is to TRUST and OBEY.

Remember that Sunday school hymn? I thought it was so boring at the time and was yawning every time we sang it until it later hit me how profound it was. Truly things connect in retrospect huh?

The hymn goes:

When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will, He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

CHORUS:

Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
Promises of God

Powerful and so true!!

Have the “bread” but also add on to that “every word that comes from the mouth of the Father”.

Time to joke around is over.

A few years ago people expected to find a Lion but then found a Lamb.

They expected to find a King in glory they found a meek, humble and gentle servant riding on a donkey.

So humble that they who claimed to believe in Him marred Him, placed Him on a cross, gave Him vinegar for a drink, challenged Him to save Himself, killed Him and threw Him in the tomb where they guarded it day and night only for Him to walk out of it in spirit.

Many years later, people will expect to find a Lamb but will find a Lion. Very fierce Lion. They will expect to find a servant but will find the King of Kings this time not on a donkey but on a white horse. Faithful, True, in righteousness and a judge waging war.

If you choose to be of the world, please do it with all your heart, mind and soul. Know that every choice we make whether good or bad has consequences.

If you choose to be of the Lord, please do it with all your heart, mind and soul. This is the one thing where there is no middle ground. Again, you will be rewarded accordingly.

We will only be reconciled to God if we faithfully and truly trust in Him and do what He instructs us. Keep His commandments. Then we will realize His promises.

If you pursue Him in Love, everything will be easy but if you’re going to Him for miracles you may get it but you will miss out on something even better. I gave you a good example with the case of the woman with the issue of blood.

Is it easy? I would be a liar if I told you it was.

It is impossible as a matter of fact to obey the Lord in the flesh.

The flesh forever will always contradict the will of the spirit. As He said “the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak”.

How then can we come to full reconciliation if it is that hard?

“Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds”.

Also, “that which you sow does not come to life unless it dies”.

You are told to carry your cross and follow Him meaning you will also go through “gethsemane” with the unbearable cup and end up in “calvary”.

Just like He was betrayed by Judas and sold for 30 dinars so will you be betrayed by the one close to you.

He said “a man’s enemy will come from his own household”.

They help you to die in the flesh but then what does the Lord say later “woe unto him who betrays the son of man”.

I have showed you how this thing works by giving you an example with Saul and David and Paul’s explanation.

At your “death” in “Calvary”, that is where you will “crucify the flesh with its passions and desires”. Then like He rose from the grave, you rise in the spirit.

Everything Jesus Christ did while on earth, look at it seven times and see. Don’t just look but see and pray in the process. I say this because everything He did was all prophetic and about you His follower-disciple. He was just demonstrating.

If you must know or rather it would be good for you to consider, the crucifying of your flesh, is the only way the resurrection power and kingdom inside of you is activated.

Of course after following the first necessary steps I have just given you above.

Once you have followed these recommendations and are in the middle of the creation process told in Genesis (which is about you), obviously on the sabbath day, God will rest as you too, rest in Him and His righteousness.

Sabbath being the completion of creating the creature that is you to the likeness and image of Christ Jesus our Lord and saviour.

Promises

That’s why it is written

“therefore since it remains for some to enter the Sabbath Rest and those who had good news preached to them failed to enter because of disobedience, He again fixes a certain day ‘Today’ saying through David after so long a time just as has been said before, today if you hear His voice do not harden your hearts.

For if Joshua had given them rest, He would not have spoken of another day after that.

So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His.

Therefore, let us be diligent to enter that rest, so that no one will fall, through following the same example of disobedience”.

Otherwise why did you think He said “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath”? Or “Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath” and in other translations “Jesus is Lord of righteousness”. Ponder on this and even come back and leave a comment and tell me what you think?

When you are eventually complete in righteousness, Himself, He grants you the “authority and dominion” and the solemn right to be “fruitful and multiply”.

You now get launched to a Kingdom purpose, assignment and enjoy being in “the garden of eden”. “Eating from every tree except one”.

These matters are not matters to merely confess. There is protocol in scripture my darlings.

CONCLUSION

Before we are who He has purposed us to be, firstly, He is.

That’s why He said “Before Abraham was, I am”.

Without Him in us, we can do nothing. Without Him we are just existing and not living our true purpose.

He has to call you out of your flesh as lets say Simon and in His righteousness, repurpose your identity now in Him through the Spirit, with the very purpose you were created for.

For example, when He called Simon, He said “and I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you lose on earth will be loosed in heaven”.

We see Simon in the flesh but after encountering Jesus Christ, he received a new identity in Christ which is Peter and a purpose to pursue.

Another example is Jacob. He who was from the beginning said “Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome”.

We see a redesignation here from a trickster to one who prevails with God.

They are many more that fulfil the prophecy “nations will see your righteousness, and all kings your glory; and you will be called by a new name which the mouth of the Lord will designate”.

Our names on our physical identity cards are not the same as our identity in Christ Jesus.

Our earthly names are like a brand name of a product in a store and the ingredients of the same product are like our true identity in Christ. Two different things in one entity.

A wise shopper will tell you, the value of a product is not found in the marketed branding in the front. It is found at the back of the product through scrutiny of the ingredients.

Let us make an effort as long as it is “today” to find our identity in Christ Jesus.

Please don’t go to the offices and have your Identity Cards changed claiming that you are no longer so and so but so and so.

I am saying there is no mambo jambo in scripture.

The Lord Himself during His visitation will do it. If you endure, overcome and more importantly, keep His commandments.

Important to note too, do as I say and not as I do for I too am a work in progress and do it prayerfully.

I pray that the Lord will grant you Grace and Mercy at your point of need.

If baptism will be a problem for you in the moment, don’t worry, pray about it and God will provide an opportunity for you.

Did He not send Phillip to the Ethiopian Eunuch who was in the middle of studying the book of Isaiah and that very day He repented and got baptised?

God is the same yesterday, today and forever more. He can do it for you too.

Meanwhile, make straight the paths for the Lord. This step cannot be skipped.

Also in times of confusion, follow what the Lord says in HIS WORD not what people are saying.

As much as you can, pray for the wisdom, counsel, understanding, knowledge and discernment of the Holy spirit so that you can study the word, understand it and use it wisely. To establish your Faith, Hope, Love, Grace and peace successfully.

Finally

God in His indescribable Glory, means well for us all.

His word when understood, is the most beautiful experience you will ever have and your most important possession.

Through the High Priest Jesus Christ, I want to encourage you that with time and patience, by Faith, you can understand the word.

Just “go with Him privately to a solitary place and rest for a while” things will start making sense.

Everything will rightly fall in place. You will not lose or miss anything and you will be restored for whatever you may have lost.

It is never a waste of time to be in the presence of God.

I therefore urge you to read the word and pray for the Righteousness of the Lord to guide you to do the things of God properly.

If you don’t know where to start I recommend after repentance, pray Psalm 119 from Vs 10. Though the entire scripture edifies fully.

  • Highlight what strikes your chord.
  • Read the scripture aloud.
  • Meditate upon it.
  • Customize your own prayer out of it.
  • Do as it says.
  • If you fail, don’t be hard on yourself or give up, pray and the Grace of God will be sufficient for you. It is a marathon not a sprint.
  • Repeat until it sticks.

Make this a habit which will become a necessity and you will see all your problems disappear one by one like dew disappears in the morning.

It gets better with time and you will reap results if you stand firm in your Faith.

I have told you it will be tumultuous at first. The enemy will try to set you up for failure but that which will be used against you is what God will use to bless you.

So you will fail first before you excel but through it all you will be alright.

PROMISES TO REMEMBER IN THIS ARTICLE

  1. The Lord will never leave us or forsake us.
  2. He is with us always.
  3. Nothing can separate us from His Love.
  4. In the moment we will not be able to understand what is going on but later on we will. (I understand most things in retrospect. So again I can witness to you that He is right when He says “later on you will understand).
  5. Nations will see your righteousness, and all kings your glory; and you will be called by a new name which the mouth of the Lord will designate
  6. The sufferings of the present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us
  7. Seek and you will find. Ask and you will receive. Knock and the door will be open.
  8. You need only to be still and see the salvation of the Lord

Also, nothing can happen to us without His permission.

I say, you cannot fail with what Jesus Christ recommends. Though you may tarry and the promises may tarry, you will see tangible results eventually and sometimes immediately.

In the words of Mary “do everything He tells you”.

“All things work together for good to them that love God and are called according to His purpose”.

At the end of our exercises, through the spirit of the Lord I hope, we will confirm “the promises of God are Yes and Amen”. His promises will manifest in our lives.

Talk later.
